Bringing Some Old Corners of the Internet Back to Life

Long before Do Spiders Leave Footprints? and my more recent writing, I published a collection of blogs about London: nightlife, hotels, theatre, travel and all sorts of other subjects.

Some of them date back to 2008 and 2009. Several grew into substantial archives with contributions from professional writers; others remained small experiments. Revisiting them means being honest about both.

Then life happened. I spent time in Budapest, Covid disrupted nearly everything, and there were other unexpected chapters along the way.

Now I'm back in London and bringing the useful parts of that portfolio back into view. The plan is to preserve dated material and credits, check what still works and add new coverage where there is something worth saying.

It feels rather good to return to something that predates so much of what I'm doing today.

I'll share some of the more interesting discoveries here as the blogs come back to life.
